The End of Queen Elizabeth II’s Reign is Nigh

Foreword

A total solar eclipse occurs 21 August 2017; 18:26h GMT (Leo 28.53).  Light, according to Genesis, is significantly favourable: tellingly, it was made on the first day, and God saw that it was good.  Its counterpart is reflected in the malevolence associated with the loss of light, eg. the setting Sun signifying death.  Of the two lights, loss of the major light (Sun) is worse than loss of the lesser light (Moon); and total loss of light is worse than partial loss.  The total eclipse of the Sun is therefore the most serious loss of light, and it falls by antiscion on Queen Elizabeth II’s radix Sun (Taurus 0.12).  As the most harmful of the occlusions of light it very likely signals major affliction for her.  Because of its shadow nature the antiscon can hint at indirectness or of being slightly removed; but it is just as effective as bodily placement.  A reasonable consideration of this harmful highlighting at the age of ninety one years must be the end of her reign.  Standard regime change of the monarchy is brought about by death; it is possible therefore that the antiscion hints as regime change by the more indirect route of abdication, especially because abdication would arise from behind the scene discussions.  Investigating the matter requires examining the progressions, profections and Return charts that accommodate the total solar eclipse, and, unsurprisingly, each shows that the misfortune the eclipse marks for the Queen is indeed the end of her reign.  If the end of her reign is a drawn out affair it may begin in earnest around the time of the eclipse (late August – September 2017), otherwise this period will see the completed event.

Birth Data: Queen Elizabeth II; 21 April 1926; 02.40h; London; Asc Capricorn 21.22

Queen Elizabeth II Radix

Some scattered observations on the chart

Lord Asc, Saturn (Scorpio 24.26) and lord MC, Mars (Aquarius 20.51) are in mutual reception by rulership, which aspect each other out of fixed signs, showing the Queen (Saturn) locked into her reign (Mars).  This neatly accounts for her enduring occupancy of the throne.  Also, because Scorpio is a water sign, albeit fixed water, Saturn, the planet of structure, feels constantly under threat of dissolution here.  Hence Saturn in Scorpio always demonstrates a sense of desperation, a need to cling to the fixity to fight against the impending sense of dissolution that threatens it very nature.  Something of this desperation might be reflected in the Queen’s undeniable diligence that very likely was instilled in her by her mother in response to the pain and suffering and, indeed, early death that befell her husband, George VI, who had to take up the reins of kingship after Edward VIII’s gross dereliction of duty.

The IC (Taurus 25.32) is on star Algol (Taurus 25.03).  Algol represents the head of Medusa, the only mortal of the monstrous trinity, the Gorgons.  Medusa was noted for her beauty, especially that of her hair which brought her to the attention of the god Poseidon who ravished her in Athene’s temple.  Outraged at this defiling of her sacred place, the goddess Athene changed Medusa’s hair into snakes causing all who looked upon her to turn to stone.  However, Medusa’s slayer, Perseus, was not ensnared by her; indeed, he was able to overpower her and sever her head by wisely looking only at her reflection on his polished shield to guide his sword.  Essentially the metamorphosis of Medusa and all those who gaze upon her, and her eventual decapitation is recognition that the commending of the material (mortal) by the desire nature (snakes) can harden the self against spiritual truth unless the desires are managed by the exercise of wisdom (Perseus).

This need to exercise wisdom to defeat captivation by the desires is expressed in the Queen’s chart through the IC.  If the MC represents how we make our mark on the world (career), and the IC represents where we come from (the base of the chart), the IC/MC axis traces something of the trajectory of our life from our root to our flowering.  Lord Asc, Saturn, conjunct the MC in a fixed sign neatly describes the native in a public position immersed in unchanging tradition.  It describes the Queen as Queen.  But she was not expected to be Queen.  When she was nine years of age her uncle, Edward VIII, inherited the throne, and like so many others of her rank she would have lived out a life of relative obscurity but for a dramatic change of events.  And this change that informed the direction of her life is exquisitely captured by the IC.  Edward VIII was captivated by the divorcee, Wallis Simpson, who was already separated from her second husband.  The monarch is head of the Church of England which forbade the divorced to remarry.  Essentially Edward VIII had to choose Wallis or the throne.  And this was not just the throne of England but rulership of the British Empire, which at the time covered about one quarter of the globe.  He chose Wallis.  Ruling a vast empire on which the sun never set was no match for the allure of Wallis Simpson, nor were the desperate pleas from his family for him to see reason.  Wallis was truly his Medusa.

Venus (Pisces 13.57) is in exaltation and on star Achernar.  It signifies both the Queen’s sister (lord 3) and her father (lord 4), and each is an excellent expression of both the exaltation and Achernar.  Because it is the only planet in any dignity (apart for Jupiter in term, which is very weak) the exaltation could, potentially, be striking in its manifestation.  And Princess Margaret certainly does not disappoint.  Exaltation often describes that which is inflated, raised up, removed from reality.  Consequently, it is a common feature in charts of the early stage of a relationship when love is blind.  Margaret was born fourth in line to the throne, becoming third in succession from age five, and second in succession from age twenty-one.  With the coveted position of ruler so dominatingly near and yet also so far, it could scarcely have been more influential in investing her with an empty sense of self-worth.  Super conscious therefore of her powerfully imposed lack she compensated for it by exhibiting a grandiose sense of self by wanting “to be the most royal of the royals”, as one observer described her, which, as a measure of her inadequacy, was deemed by Margaret as entitling her to be inconsiderate, insensitive and spoiled.  Essentially her low sense of self-esteem generated an inflated sense of self that finds perfect expression in exaltation.

Achernar describes release from constriction.  Margaret was famous for smoking in public and dancing till all hours, and her yearning for the unconventional and carefree found her involved with, and subsequently married to the society photographer, Tony Armstrong-Jones, whose bohemian lifestyle acquainted her with informal life which she adored, even to the point of riding pillion on his motorbike.  And there was also her relationship with Roddy Llewellyn seventeen years her junior with whom she was a frequent visitor to a Wiltshire hippy commune.  There is no doubt that Margaret wanted to indulge fully in sybaritic splendor but it is fair to add that she also relished release from regal restriction.

The Queen’s father, George VI, born Albert, was the second son of George V and Queen Mary.  His elder brother Edward VIII, who was first in line to the throne, was charming, gregarious, and idolised by the public; Albert was shy, lacking in confidence and afflicted with a serious stammer.  Firmly in second place Albert was very much the spare, and very few ever imagined he would be king.  The abdication of his brother, Edward VIII, elevated Albert to the throne for which he was never groomed.  Many, including the man himself feared he was not up to being king.  So the exaltation of Venus describes George VI raised above himself, elevated to a position to which he felt utterly unsuited.

His powerful stammer was modified by a speech therapist.  It is possible the freeing up of his speech is described by the release bestowed by Achernar.

Progressions April 2017

Progressed MC (Aquarius 20.30) falls on radix conjunction of lord MC Mars (Aquarius 20.51) and Jupiter (Aquarius 22.30), highlighting the Queen’s public role as Monarch (Mars), especially as the highlighter itself is her public position (MC).  The highlighting of Jupiter could be a reference to role as the natural ruler of religion and so could be highlighting the Queen’s role as Defender of the faith.

Progressed MC opposes progressed Mercury (Leo 20.42).  Because progressed Mercury moves much faster than the progressed MC this peculiarity is only possible because progressed Mercury is slowing down.  Reading Mercury as lord 8, signifying the Queen’s death, or turned lord 8 (radix lord 5), the (unspecified) end of her public role as monarch, this is powerful testimony to her reign ending, especially as the highlighter itself is her public position (MC).  Also progressed MC squares progressed lord Asc, retrograde Saturn (Scorpio 19.25), highlighting the Queen in terms of her reign.  The progression is mutually separating by just over one degree, but it is still just about valid.  And since the Queen as person is so closely identified with her public role, this highlighting of her, especially by her public role as monarch, is congruent with the progressions that identify potential change in her public role.

Progressed Moon (Sagittarius 2.31) has recently left Scorpio the sign of its fall and opposes by antiscion progressed Sun (Cancer 27.33).  Reading the Moon as radix lord 7 its improved dignity could described the likely relief experienced by Prince Philip on his recent retirement from public duty.  Reading the Sun as the natural ruler of the Monarch, the antiscial opposition of the Sun and Moon that follows from the Moon’s recent progression into Sagittarius puts a spotlight on the Queen.  And, of course, the opposition of the lights is also a general indicator of a significant time.  Accordingly a significant time is to be anticipated sometime soon and very likely this will center on the Queen herself.  Progressions of the Moon and Part of Fortune cover thirteen degrees in any given twelve months, but there is no indication when in those twelve months their progressed hits will be triggered, other than the sequence of these progressed hits.  The next important encounter of the Moon is it falling on powerful star of ending, Antares (Sagittarius 8.40) in the heart of the Scorpion which brought down the mighty Orion.  For the speedy progressions of the Moon and Part of Fortune their highlighting of the stars is restricted to those that feature in the radix, the major stars and those that have a direct relevance to the unfolding story.  Taking the Moon as lord 7 its progression onto Antares could describe the death of Prince Philip; otherwise the ending it highlights is either that of the Queen’s reign, or the Queen herself.  And since the Queen, like Orion, occupies the most exalted position, it is more likely that it is she rather than Prince Philip who will be made low by the sting of the Scorpion.  Antares will therefore remove her from the throne.

Progressed Part of Fortune (Scorpio 1.10) is separating by opposition from the radix Sun (Taurus 0.12) and applying by opposition to the radix Part of Fortune (Taurus 3.17).  Reading the Sun as the natural ruler of a monarch, this puts a spotlight on the Queen.  Moreover, because the Part of Fortune is the Lunar Part, it can be read as a Super-Moon, and so the arrangement constructs an opposition of the lights which signifies an important time.  It is possible the significance marked by this separating opposition of the lights captures the importance of Prince Philip’s retirement.  But the significant time marked by the opposition to the Part of Fortune, (or Moon Moon opposition), has yet to manifest.  The Part of Fortune then progresses to conjunct by antiscion the radix conjunction of lord MC, Mars, and Jupiter, and oppose by antiscion progressed lord 8, and turned lord 8 (radix lord 5), Mercury (Leo 20.42).  Again, progressions of the Moon and Part of Fortune cannot be timed with any precision so all that can be said is that sometime over the next twelve months the Part of Fortune will highlight the Queen’s public role as monarch (Mars), and either her death (Mercury as lord 8), or the end of her public role as Monarch (Mercury as turned lord 8, radix lord 5).  So there is major potential for change flagged up for the Queen in her role as monarch over the next twelve months, without the timing being any more specific.

Progressed Mercury (Leo 20.42) opposes radix conjunction of lord 10, Mars (Aquarius 20.51) and Jupiter (Aquarius 22.31).  Reading Mercury as lord 8, signifying the Queen’s death, or lord 5, the (unspecified) end of her public role as monarch (radix lord 5 is turned lord 8), this opposition shows her death or the (unspecified) end of her reign informing her role as monarch (Mars), with the opposition underlining the misfortune the end of her reign entails.  The opposition to Jupiter, the natural ruler of religion, could signify the end of her role as the Defender of the Faith that is associated with her role as monarch.  Also progressed Mercury squares progressed lord Asc, retrograde Saturn (Scorpio 19.25).  As with Progressed MC trine Saturn, the progression is separating, but it is still just about valid and in highlighting the Queen (Saturn) in terms of her reign ending (Mercury) it is congruent with other testimonies.

Progressed Part of Spirit, also known as the Part of Kings (Aquarius 21.12) because it is the solar Part opposes progressed Mercury (Leo 20.42).  The Part of Kings progresses backwards so its opposition with Mercury is perfecting not separating.  Again reading Mercury as lord 8, signifying the Queen’s death, or lord 5, the (unspecified) end of her public role as monarch (radix lord 5 is turned lord 8), this opposition shows the end of her reign informing her role as monarch (Part of Kings), with the opposition underlining the misfortune the end of her reign entails.

Profections 21 April 2017 – 21 April 2018

Profected Asc will oppose the conjunction of radix Mars (Aquarius 20.51) and Jupiter (Aquarius 22.30).  It has, of course, already profected past Mars, but since it has yet to pass Jupiter, and Mars and Jupiter are taken as a pair, we can read the profection to the conjunction as belonging to either the previous birthday year or the current one.  Next the profected Asc will opposes radix lord IC, Venus (Pisces 13.57) on star Achernar (Pisces 14.10) marking the mouth of the river Eridanus.  According to Ptolemy all the Stars of Eridanus are of Saturn nature (restrictive), except Achernar which is of Jupiter nature (expansive).  In other words the confined and restricted structure of a river that assists its flow, ends at its mouth where it expands into the sea.  Essentially Achernar describes emerging from confinement and restriction.  Next, the profected Asc conjuncts the Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Virgo 16.44).  And finally the profected Asc opposes by antiscion the Part of Spirit, which is also known as the Part of Kings (Libra 9.27) because it is the solar Part.

The highlighting of the Part of Resignation and Dismissal, and significantly by the Queen herself (Asc) puts her ending her reign strongly in play.  It is likely then that the Asc profecting to the Jupiter Mars conjunction which highlights the Queen’s public role as Monarch (Mars) by the Queen herself (Asc), with the harshness of opposition underlining the ‘difficulty’ of being prised from a throne she has occupied for sixty-five years, activates the conjunction for the current birthday year.  And this highlighting of Mars by the Asc is repeated with the highlighting of her rule (Part of Kings) by herself (Asc).  And again the highlighting by opposition underlines the discomfort of this development.  Jupiter probably functions in its natural role as the ruler of religion and since the Queen’s role as Defender of the Faith ends with the end of her reign very likely this is what is in play with the profected highlighting.  The highlighting of lord IC, Venus (the end of the matter) on star Achernar by the Queen (Asc) suggests she is about to experience relaxation (Achernar) that goes hand in hand with embracing matters winding down (Venus) which, of course, is exactly what abdication with its freedom from constriction of duty entails, and what the activation of Part of Resignation and Dismissal already identifies.

The next profections are those of Mars and Jupiter and these will conjunct by antiscion Mercury (Aries 4.39), operating either as lord 8, death, or turned lord 8 (radix lord 5), the (unspecified) end of her public role as monarch.  Next, Jupiter will dramatically improve in dignity by leaving Virgo the sign of its detriment, and, more importantly lord MC, Mars, will dramatically lose dignity on entering Libra the sign of its detriment showing the Queen in her public role as Monarch taking a serious hit.  This is followed by profected Jupiter and Mars again activating lord 8, or turned lord 8 (radix lord 5), Mercury, but this time the activation is by bodily opposition.  Jupiter and Mars will then profect a conjunction with the Part of Kings (Libra 9.27) which signifies the Queen’s reign.  Next they oppose by antiscion the Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Virgo 16.44).  And finally they will profect a conjunction by antiscion with Venus (Pisces 13.57) on star Achernar (Pisces 14.10).

The ending of her reign, which is already taking shape from the significant hits of just her profected Asc, is developed further by the profections of Jupiter and Mars antiscially and bodily activating lord 8 as well as turned lord 8 (radix lord 5), Mercury.  The highlighting by opposition of the Part of Resignation and Dismissal by the Queen in her public role as Monarch (Mars), which brings together her reign and its ending in inharmonious circumstances that tellingly underlines the difficulty such an ending entails, is powerfully significant.  And the highlighting of the same Part by her role as Defender of the Faith (Jupiter) is also significant for a role that is soon to end.  In light of this end to her reign it is entirely fitting that her public role as Monarch should register a significant negative change (Mars drops in dignity) and would also explain why her rule itself is under the spotlight (Jupiter and Mars conjunct Part of Kings).  And the significant activation of matters winding down (lord IC, Venus), which is coloured by expansion and relaxation (Achernar), by her public role as Monarch (Mars), and Defender of the Faith (Jupiter) shows her ending the restrictive role of monarch and associated role of Defender of the Faith she exercises as Queen.  Jupiter’s improved dignity definitely registers the change that is the end of her role as Defender of the Faith, with the improved dignity possibly reflecting the liberation of ‘the bigger picture’ (Jupiter) from the restrictive duty of Defender of the Faith.

The next profections are those of Venus (Pisces 13.57) on star Achernar (Pisces 14.10) which is just separating by antiscial opposition from the Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Virgo 16.44).  But even though it is only just past the antiscion of the Part it is still past and so no longer relevant.  Venus begins its profections this birthday year then by plunging dramatically in dignity when it leaves Libra the sign it rules and enters Scorpio the sign of its detriment.  As soon as it enters Scorpio it opposes the Sun (Taurus 0.12) and the Part of Fortune (Taurus 3.17) on star Sharatan (Taurus 2.51) in the Ram with the Golden Fleece, the desire for which was the motivation of Jason and the Argonauts’ lengthy overseas journey.  And finally it falls by antiscion on the conjunction of lord MC, Mars (Aquarius 20.51) and Jupiter (Aquarius 22.30).

Reading Venus as significator of matters winding down (lord IC), its divesting itself of all dignity (moving from Libra to Scorpio) mimics the Queen’s loss of dignity in stepping down from her rule that itself is indisputably the end of the matter.  But what is particularly poignant is Venus highlighting the Sun.  Since the lights can always represent the native, and especially the Sun in this case because it is the natural ruler of the Monarch, this highlighting of the Queen (Sun) in terms of ‘the end of the matter’, with the utterly understandable bonus of relaxation (Achernar), is persuasive and entirely congruent with the profected testimonies to her reign ending, with the harshness of the opposition underlining the difficulty this entails for one who has committed herself to her reign for sixty-five years.  The highlighting of lord MC Mars and Jupiter by the antiscial conjunction of Venus on Archernar repeats the same message but with the focus on her public role as Monarch (Mars) and Defender of the Faith (Jupiter), and without the harshness of the opposition.  Profected Venus falling on the Part of Fortune on star Sharatan is somewhat curious.  Sharatan, a feature of the far off and much sought after Golden Fleece, could represent her retirement.  And after sixty five years in the job there is no doubt that retirement for her can be characterised as far off, and for someone who was locked into her public role as Queen from a very early age, and has, in the immortal words of that inimitable chanteuse, Charlene, ‘never been to me’, it is highly likely that the much sought after Golden Flece might be retirement that allows her to be herself.

The next object to profect is Mercury (Aries 4.39) which falls by antiscion on the conjunction of lord MC, Mars (Aquarius 20.51) and Jupiter (Aquarius 22.30).  Mercury can be read as the significator of either death (lord 8), or the (unspecified) end of office (turned lord 8, radix lord 5), and therefore brings death or abdication directly to bear on the Queen’s public role as Monarch (Mars) and its associated role of Defender of the Faith (Jupiter).  This is compelling testimony to the end of her reign.  Next, profected Mercury opposes by antiscon the Moon (Leo 12.07).  If Mercury is read a lord 8, and the Moon as lord 7 this could be the death of Prince Philip.  But the lights can always represent the native so again it could be death (lord 8) or the end of office (turned lord 8, radix lord 5) brought to bear on the Queen (Moon).  Profected Mercury then conjuncts Saturn (Scorpio 24.26) and as Saturn signifies the Queen (lord Asc) this is again testimony to the end of her reign.  And finally Mercury plunges in dignity on entering Sagittarius the sign of its detriment.  This troublesome behavior of Mercury suits its role as turned lord 8 (or lord 8) in bringing to an end the Queen’s reign which has endured for so long.

Profected Sun will conjunct powerful (magnitude class one) star of ending, Antares (Sagittarius 8.40) in the heart of the Scorpion.  Reading the Sun as significator of the native and natural ruler of the Monarch, and factoring in that Antares directs its force particularly at ending supreme elevation, such as the occupancy of a throne (Orion, the supreme hunter was brought down by the sting of the Scorpion) this is major testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

The profected Part of Fortune, like the profected Sun, will also conjunct powerful star of ending, Antares (Sagittarius 8.40).  So again this highlights a major ending for the Queen.

The profection of the Moon makes several hits.  It conjuncts lord IC Venus (Pisces 13.57) on star Achernar (Pisces 14.10); opposes Radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Virgo 16.44); conjuncts by antiscion Part of Kings (Libra 9.27); opposes by antiscion Mercury (Aries 4.39); conjuncts Mercury; opposes the Part of Kings; and finally conjuncts by antiscion the Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Virgo 16.44).

The double highlighting of the Part of Resignation and Dismissal puts abdication strongly in play.  It is most likely then that the highlighting of Mercury, which is also double, functions as turned lord 8 (radix lord 5), as distinct from lord 8.  And so, by downplaying death, this heavy highlighting of the end of the Queen’s reign leaves open the likelihood of it ending by abdication.  It is entirely fitting then that this momentous change finds her reign (Part of Kings) identified as significant, and once again this is by double highlighting.  Indeed, taking the Part of Kings as a Super Sun (because it is the solar Part), these highlightings construct a conjunction and opposition of the lights, with each arrangement itself signifying an important time.  And certainly it must mark a momentous turning point in the life of the longest living reigning monarch to end her reign.  The highlighting of lord IC, Venus (the end of the matter) on star Achernar again suggests the Queen is about to experience relaxation (Achernar) that goes hand in hand with embracing matters winding down (Venus).

Profected Saturn undergoes a dramatic drop in dignity on entering Cancer the sign of its detriment.  By mirroring the very real drop in dignity that abdication entails this is neat testimony to the end of the Queen’s reign.  Saturn then profects on to the North Node (Cancer 20.06).  This could describe something of the relaxation and expansion that comes from throwing off the trappings of monarchy.

Solar Return 2017-18 Asc Aquarius 9.32

Queen Elizabeth II Solar Return 2017

Solar Return MC (Sagittarius 7.40) is on powerful (magnitude class one) star of endings, Antares (Sagittarius 8.40) neatly testifying to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign (MC).  And this is strongly emphasized by the MC/IC axis falling by antiscion on the radix conjunction of the Asc/Desc axis (Capricorn/Cancer 21.22) and the South/North node axis (Capricorn/Cancer 20.06).  Indeed, the secure anchoring of this powerful change to the personal point (Asc/Desc axis) of the radix that is also specifically the Queen (Asc), and which is underscored, moreover, by the involvement of the nodal axis, validates it as a definite and defining development in her life.  Furthermore, the MC on Antares falling specifically on the restrictive South Node very likely describes the loss of some of the barely imaginable privilege and comfort, and all of the political power she will experience on abdicating.  This somewhat elaborate arrangement then is compelling testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Solar Return retrograde Mercury (Taurus 0.26) will perfect a tight conjunction with the Sun (Taurus 0.12).  Mercury is cazimi so it is raised up.  But if we stay with the unfolding story and read Mercury as radix lord 8, or especially turned lord 8 (radix lord 5) and also, of course, Solar Return turned lord 8 (Solar Return lord 5), and disregard its cazimi condition, its impending perfecting conjunction clearly describes the end of the Queen’s public role as monarch being brought to bear directly on her (Sun can always refer to the self, especially in the Solar Return; it is also the natural ruler of monarchs).  This Mercury Sun conjunction is therefore neat testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

We need to be aware that the Sun is Solar Return lord 7 and its perfecting conjunction with Mercury, read as radix lord 8, could describe the death of the Queen’s husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.  But since the unfolding story is very much about the end of the Queen’s reign, reading Sun as the Duke of Edinburgh is very likely in error.  A similar error is likely with the Solar Return Moon (Aquarius 8.04) which demands attention by conjuncting the Solar Return Asc.  If the Moon is read as radix lord 7 it could be taken as highlighting the Duke of Edinburgh.  But as each of the lights can represent the native in a return chart, and again, since the unfolding story is very much about the Queen and her reign ending, it is more likely that the prominent Moon signifies the Queen rather than her husband.  And furthermore, when the Arc of the Part of Fortune is cast into the Solar Return chart, it falls at Taurus 21.27, which conjuncts by antiscion the Solar Return Desc (Leo 9.32); more importantly, it opposes the Moon.  Indeed, the conjunction with the Desc cannot be taken as highlighting the husband because signification of the spouse as person is restricted to lord 7 (highlighting of the Asc/Desc axis only generally relates to a spouse in terms of the possibility of marriage).  It is precisely then its highlighting of the Moon by opposition that is important, and this powers-up the spotlight that is already on the Moon from its conjuncting the Asc.  In light then of the unfolding story of a monarch whose reign is about to end it makes good sense to read the powered-up highlighting of Solar Return Moon as the Queen.  And, of course, because the Part of Fortune is the lunar Part it can be read as a Super-Moon, and so the arrangement constructs an opposition of the lights which signifies an important time in the life of the Queen.  And the end of her reign certainly qualifies for this.

Solar Return Mars (Taurus 29.04) attracts attention because it is about to leave the sign of its detriment.  It is also under high developmental tension because it opposes by antiscion pre-natal eclipse Jupiter (Aquarius 1.55; Total Solar Eclipse, 14 January 1926, Asc Sagittarius 28.52).  In other words Solar Return Mars is significant.  Because we not take a planet beyond a conjunction, especially when the conjunction is with the Sun, Mercury will hold its position in Taurus and therefore as soon as Mars enters Gemini, Mercury will have power over it and harm it (Mercury in Taurus rules relocated Mars in Gemini and receives it into its detriment).  Essentially Mercury has its foot on the neck of Mars enabling it to carry out its utter destruction of Mars.  Reading Mercury as radix and Solar Return turned lords 8 (radix and Solar Return lords 5), signifying the end of the Queen’s reign; and Mars as radix lord MC, signifying her public role as monarch, the Mercury Mars receptions provide compelling testimony to the ending of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.  This momentous event therefore explains why Solar Return Mars is marked as significant by its highlighting from pre-natal eclipse Jupiter.

Solar Return and radix lord Asc retrograde Saturn (Sagittarius 27.38) conjuncts star cluster Acumen (Sagittarius 27.35) in the sting of the Scorpion, the poisonous barb with which the agent of endings, the Scorpion, brought the exalted rule of the mighty hunter, Orion, to an end.  Like Orion, the Queen, occupies an exalted role, so finding her significator (Saturn) highlighted by the sting of the Scorpion is powerful testimony to her reign ending.  Indeed, Saturn perfects a square with radix lord IC or Solar Return lord 8, Venus (Pisces 27.19).  And this, moreover, is powered up by falling on pre-Natal Eclipse Asc/Desc axis (Sagittarius/Gemini 28.52).  If Venus is read as Solar Return lord 8 its perfecting square could describe the death of the Queen, which would, of course, end her reign.  But as the unfolding story is more about abdication than death, very likely Venus functions as radix lord IC bringing the issue of matters winding down to bear on the Queen.  And as the sting of the Scorpion already powerfully frames the Queen in terms of ending, this testimony of Venus in its role as the end of the matter is entirely congruent.  And, as already mentioned, the significance of this development for the Queen is highlighted by Saturn falling on Pre-Natal Eclipse Asc/Desc axis.  The highlighting then of lord Asc Saturn on Acumen perfecting a square with lord IC Venus by the Pre-Natal Eclipse Asc/Desc axis is strong testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

A similar testimony is provided by Solar Return Jupiter (Libra 16.42) on star Seginus (Libra 16.32) opposing by antiscion radix Venus (Pisces 13.57).  Seginus is situated on the left shoulder of the bear ward Arcas, who was lifted up and placed in the firmament as Bootes to prevent the calamity of killing his mother on sacred ground.  Seginus could therefore describe a rescue or an elevation of some sort.  However, as the Queen is not in any predicament, and moreover, as she is already at the top, such that there is no available hand to reach down and pluck her to safety, it would seem that Seginus is not operative.  And besides, Seginus is not featured in the radix so very likely it is a redundant star.  This leaves Jupiter opposing Venus.  Reading Jupiter as solar Return lord MC and Venus again as radix lord IC the (perfecting) antiscial opposition would be testimony to the Queen’s public role as monarch drawing to a close.

Natal Arc Part of Resignation and Dismissal falls in the Solar Return chart at Libra 4.54 which falls back on the radix to oppose turned lord 8 (radix lord 5), Mercury (Aries 4.39).  The Queen’s abdication (Part of Resignation and Dismissal) opposing the end of her public role as Monarch could be read as showing abdication informing the end of her public role as Monarch.  As such it is good testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

The radix conjunction of lord MC, Mars (Aquarius 20.51) and Jupiter (Aquarius 22.30) falls by antiscion in the Solar Return chart where the Solar Return MC ‘ought to be’ (Scorpio 9.32), highlighting Queen Elizabeth II’s public role as monarch (Mars) and its associated role of Defender of the Faith (Jupiter).  And, of course, its significance is already emphasized by highlighting from the pre-natal Lunation Asc/Desc axis (Leo/Aquarius 20.34; 12 April 1926; 12.56h) which brought her to the throne in the first place.  This powerful highlighting then of Mars and Jupiter by the Solar Return chart, and which was always already fired up as significant by the Lunation Asc/Desc axis propels her reign (Mars) and its associated role of Defender of the Faith (Jupiter) into super significance this solar return year.  And once again the end of her reign certainly qualifies for this significance.

Solar Return 2nd/8th cusp axis (Aries/Libra 10.02) reverses by antiscian the radix 2nd/8 cusp axis (Pisces/Virgo 18.25).  As finances are most unlikely to be an issue the highlighting would appear to be drawing attention to the 8th house matter of death.  This is a peculiarity.  If the testimonies of radix Mercury are read with Mercury as lord 8 and those of Venus as Solar Return lord 8 this testimony to death makes sense.  More likely, if it does signal death, it could be the death of the Duke of Edinburgh, especially if it pushed her to abdicate.  But it could also just be an irrelevant arrangement: an event is not going to happen from a single or even a few testimonies.

Lunar Return 20 August 2017 Asc Sagittarius 4.13

Queen Elizabeth II Lunar Return 20 August 2017

Lunar Return Mars (Leo 19.56) perfects a sextile with Lunar Return Jupiter (Libra 19.59).  Reading Mars as Lunar Return turned lord 8 (Lunar Return lord 5), and Jupiter as Lunar Return lord Asc the perfecting sextile shows the Queen (Jupiter) informed by the end of her reign (Mars).  Indeed, the role of Mars in this configuration is emphasised by falling on the pre-natal Lunation Asc/Desc axis (Leo/Aquarius 20.34; 12 April 1926; 12.56h) underlining the significance of this testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Even more significant, Lunar Return Mars is in celestial opposition with its radix position (Aquarius 20.51).  Celestial and mundane conjunctions and oppositions are powerful highlighters in themselves, highlighting in this case the Queen’s public role as Monarch (radix lord MC).  But the celestial opposition also testifies to the end of her reign by specifically highlighting her public role as Monarch (radix Mars as lord MC) in terms of the end of her reign (Lunar Return Mars as turned lord 8), with the opposition, moreover, hinting at the disruption to the self that the ending of this sixty five year commitment entails.  And as the significance of her public role as monarch is already emphasised by falling on the pre-natal Lunation Asc/Desc axis (Leo/Aquarius 20.34), which, of course, brought her to the throne in the first place, this powerful highlighting is therefore also in play for the opposition from Lunar Return Mars.  This gives the Mars Mars opposition a super-significance that fits with its testimony to the end of her reign.  And because we take radix Mars and Jupiter (Aquarius 22.30) as a pair the ending that the Mars Mars opposition highlights for her reign is also highlighted for her reign’s associated role of Defender of the Faith (Jupiter).  This powerfully highlighted configuration of celestial opposition is therefore compelling testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Because it is the solar Part the Queen’s reign is also signified by the (radix) Part of Spirit (Libra 9.27), or, as it is also known, the Part of Kings/Monarchs.  When the Natal Arc of this Part is cast into the Lunar Return chart it falls at Leo 22.18.  Because they are closely conjunct, radix Mars and Jupiter are treated as a pair and this allows the Natal Arc Part’s opposition to radix Jupiter to fall on the celestial opposition of radix Mars and Lunar Return Mars (Leo 19.56).  Indeed, the opposition of the Natal Arc Part and the Jupiter Mars conjunction also picks up the Lunar Return nodal axis (Leo/Aquarius 24.13), and externally, the pre-natal lunation MC/IC axis by antiscion (Taurus/Scorpio 6.07) and the pre-natal Lunation Asc/Desc axis (Leo/Aquarius 20.34).  Essentially the Natal Arc Part of Kings highlights the Queen’s role as Defender of the Faith (Jupiter) and her public role as Queen (Mars) with which it is associated.  And this highlighting is easily explained by the end of her reign.  Indeed, the Natal Arc Part’s highlighting the celestial opposition of radix Mars and Lunar Return Mars (Leo 19.56) testifies exactly to this because Lunar Return Mars is turned lord 8.  And the elaborate highlighting all of this receives from the external charts as well as the Lunar Return nodal axis puts it under extremely powerful developmental tension.  And for a sixty-five year reign that is soon to end this heightened developmental tension makes excellent sense.

Although less elaborate, but just as effective, another Natal Arc Part that that testifies to the end of the Queen’s reign is that of the Part of Fortune.  This Natal Arc Part falls in the Lunar Return chart at Pisces 16.07 which opposes the radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Virgo 16.44) putting the Queen’s abdication unmistakable in play.  This is neat testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

And the Queen’s own significator is just as telling.  Lunar Return Saturn (Sagittarius 21.12) is in secondary station and on star Rasalhague (Sagittarius 21.20) which is in the constellation Ophiuchus, a configuration immortalising Asclepius who was worshipped as the founder of medicine.  A story is told how Asclepius, having killed a snake, witnessed another snake bring it back to life by placing a herb upon it.  Asclepius subsequently used this technique to restore life to the dead.  The snake reference is important because the healing art saves lives, just as the snake shedding its skin is seen as reborn, and as such restored to life.  Rasalhague is therefore about transformation, a sloughing off of the skin for the emergence of the new.  For those of advanced age Rasalhague can also be descriptive of the transformation of death.  And as Saturn signifies the Queen (radix lord Asc) this must be a consideration.  But the weight of testimony so far suggests it much more likely describes the transformation through abdication.  Indeed, the general sense of improvement for Saturn as it emerges from secondary station (going direct) would fit with the weight of monarchy lifted off her shoulders.  As an indicator of change Saturn in second station on Rasalhague is therefore strong testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Saturn is not her only significator that provides testimony to the end of her reign.  Since either of the lights can represent the native in a return chart, and the Sun is also natural ruler of the monarch, the role of the Sun in the Lunar Return chart pins the end of the Queen’s reign directly on the Queen herself.  The Lunar Return Sun (Leo 27.44) conjuncts by antiscion the radix Part of Fortune (Taurus 3.17) on star Sharatan (Taurus 2.51) in the constellation of the Ram.  The Ram had a Golden Fleece which Jason and the Argonauts undertook a lengthy overseas voyage to acquire.  Essentially this quest describes the pursuit of that which is much distant and much desired.  And because the Part of Fortune is also known as the Part of Hunger (it is the lunar Part and the Moon is considered to have appetite because it waxes and wanes) this quest is driven by hunger.  At the end of the Queen’s life there is only one possible consideration for such a hunger driven quest to be in play: retirement.  And appropriately this hunger driven quest is powerfully significant in the life because the Part of Fortune on Sharatan conjuncts the pre-natal eclipse MC/IC axis (Scorpio/Taurus 4.03; Total Solar Eclipse, 14 January 1926, Asc Sagittarius 28.52) antiscially conjunct pre-natal eclipse Venus (Aquarius 25.48).  And, of course, because the Part of Fortune is the Lunar Part, it can be read as a Super-Moon, and so the arrangement constructs a conjunction of the lights (Sun and Super-Moon) which signifies an important time.  And certainly the end of the Queen’s reign is a momentous event.  The activation then by the Queen (Sun) of a hunger (Part of Fortune) for retirement that is distant and desired (Sharatan), and which is powerfully significant in the life (conjunct the pre-natal eclipse MC/IC axis antiscially conjunct pre-natal eclipse Venus; conjunction of the lights) is a rather delightful and significant testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Lunar Return Venus (Cancer 23.21) conjuncts by antiscion the Lunar Return Desc (Gemini 4.13), and, more importantly, conjuncts the radix Desc (Cancer 21.22).  These placements describe Venus setting.  Reading Venus as Lunar Return lord MC this is neat testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Lunar Return Mercury (Virgo 9.02) falls by antision on pre-natal New Moon (Aries 21.51).  Reading Mercury as radix turned lord 8 (radix lord 5) this is powerful highlighting of the end of the Queen’s public role as monarch and therefore testimony to the end of her reign.

Solar Lunar Return 7 August 2017 Asc Leo 7.44

Queen Elizabeth II Solar Lunar Return 7 August 2017

Solar Lunar Return Asc/Desc axis (Leo/Aquarius 7.44) reverses the Solar Return Asc/Desc axis (Aquarius/Leo 9.32) indicating that this Lunar Return chart governs the period when the potential of the Solar Return chart is likely to manifest.  In the Solar Return chart the Moon conjuncts the Asc which invests it with potential significance for the forthcoming year.  The axial reversal therefore means that the Moon (Aquarius 8.04) is setting in the Solar Lunar Return chart.  Moreover, because the Moon in the Solar Lunar Return chart is a Full Moon, the impending loss of its splendid illumination makes the ending signified by its setting light all the more significant.  And furthermore, the significance of this dramatic setting is pressed home by the Moon conjunct the Solar Lunar Return Asc/Desc axis falling by antiscion on pre-natal Eclipse Saturn (Scorpio 23.57; Total Solar Eclipse, 14 January 1926, Asc Sagittarius 28.52).  Because the Moon is radix lord 7 there is the possibility that the dramatic loss of its full refulgence describes a significant ending for the Duke of Edinburgh.  But because the preceding procedures provide ample testimony to the end of the Queen’s reign, and indeed overwhelming testimony by the Solar Return chart which, moreover, has its manifestation clearly signaled by the axial reversal in this Lunar Return chart, it must be the Queen who experiences this compelling testimony to an ending.  Accordingly, since either of the lights in a return chart can signify the native, this dramatic setting of the Full Moon is powerful testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.  And because loss of light is felt with some unease, and, moreover, delivered on a reversed axis that hints at misfortune, the arrangement captures something of the poignant pathos that would attend her experience of the end of sixty five years on the throne.

In light of this spectacular testimony to the end of her reign consider also that the Solar Lunar Return turned 8th/2nd cusps axis (Scorpio/Taurus 26.35, Solar Lunar Return 5th/11th cusp axis) falls on the radix MC/IC axis (Scorpio/Taurus 25.32) conjunct lord Asc Saturn (Scorpio 24.26).  By bringing the turned 8th/2nd cusp axis that signifies the end of her reign directly to bear on the all-important radix MC/IC axis that signifies her rule, which, moreover, conjuncts lord Asc Saturn which signifies herself, this highlighting could scarcely be more emphatic in its testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

And it is precisely because of this major change to her reign that the arc of the radix Part of Fortune (Taurus 3.17), when cast into the Solar Lunar Return chart, falls at Scorpio 19.39 where it opposes by antiscion radix and Solar Lunar Return lord MC, Mars (Leo 11.21).  This puts a spotlight on the Queen’s public role as monarch, with the opposition again hinting at misfortune.  In light of the many foregoing testimonies to the end of her reign this highlighting by opposition can be read as supporting testimony because it is congruent with the end of a reign that, understandably, after sixty five years, has something of a wrench about it.

An even more informative Natal Arc Part is that of the Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Virgo 16.44).  This Natal Arc Part falls in the Solar Lunar Return chart at Aries 3.06 which conjuncts radix Mercury (Aries 4.39), significator of both the Queen’s death (lord 8) and the unspecified ending of her public role as monarch (turned lord 8, radix lord 5).  The Queen’s abdication (Part of Resignation and Dismissal) falling on Death (lord 8) does not make any sense; but falling on the (unspecified) end of her public role as monarch (turned lord 8, radix lord 5), makes excellent sense because it describes her reign ending by abdication.   Moreover, the highlighting of radix Mercury by the Natal Arc Part of Resignation and Dismissal is further highlighted by pre-natal Lunation Mercury (Aries 02.38; 12 April 1926; 12.56h; Asc Leo 20.34) underlining the significance of its testimony to the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Because the end of her reign is a momentous development in the life of the Queen, note how the antiscion of Solar Lunar Return Mercury (Virgo 10.11) falls in the radix chart at Aries 19.49, conjunct where the radix IC ‘ought to be’ (Aries 21.22).  Essentially Solar Lunar Return Mercury, read as radix turned lord 8 (radix lord 5), which signifies the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, is catapulted into significance when it is thrown back into the radix to conjunct the IC.  Because the radix is the ultimate reference point, this highlighting of Solar Lunar Return Mercury by the IC puts the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign under a powerful spotlight.

Defender of the Faith is the associated role of the monarch, and ends, of course, with the end of the monarch’s reign.  It is entirely unsurprising then that Solar Lunar Return lord 9, Jupiter (Libra 17.52), conjuncts the Solar Lunar Return IC (Libra 16.51) with this conjunction, moreover, falling by antiscion on radix lord IC, Venus (Pisces 13.57).  If Jupiter is read as the Queen’s religious duties (lord 9, and also, of course, the natural ruler of religion) its conjuncting the IC, which marks the position where the Sun is furthest from its most powerful refulgence (MC), is a general indication of the religious matter not working out well.  This would aptly describe the Queen’s role of Defender of the Faith winding down.  And for the conjunction then to fall on radix lord IC, Venus, serves only to drive the matter home that the Queen’s role of Defender of the Faith is about to end.  And since this role is held by the incumbent monarch it must mean the end of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

This rather emphasized role of the IC shores up the significance Solar Lunar Return Saturn (Sagittarius 21.27) opposing by antiscion Solar Lunar Return Venus (Cancer 7.35).  If Venus is read as radix and Solar Lunar Return lord IC signifying matters winding down, and Saturn is read as radix lord Asc, signifying the native, the opposition highlights the Queen (Saturn) in terms of matters drawing to a close (Venus) with the opposition again underlining something of the misfortune this entails.  This would testify to the end of her reign.

And with this dramatic development in store for the Queen it is unsurprising that Solar Lunar Return lord Asc Sun (Leo 14.51) opposes pre-natal Lunation Mars (Aquarius 14.41).  Since this puts her (Sun) under the spotlight it is perfectly understandable with her reign about to end.

There is, however, a peculiarity.  In this Solar Lunar Return chart the North/South nodal axis (Leo/Aquarius 24.11) falls on the 2nd/8th cusp axis (Leo/Aquarius 24.44).  If finances are not the issue – and it is very doubtful that they are – this flags up death.  Moreover, the axial conjunction falls by antiscion on both the pre-natal Lunation IC/MC axis (Taurus/Scorpio 6.07; 12 April 1926; 12.56h) and the pre-natal eclipse IC/MC axis (Taurus/Scorpio 4.03; Total Solar Eclipse, 14 January 1926, Asc Sagittarius 28.52).  This gives this issue of death huge significance in the period governed by this Solar Luanr Return chart.  And, of course, it could be argued that there is an undercurrent of death running through these various astrological procedures and returns which give it substance.  It could testify to the death of the Queen, which, of course, fits with the testimonies to the end of her reign; but this would jar with the significant highlighting of the Part of Resignation and Dismissal that indicates that her reign ends by abdication.  The alternative is that if it does signify death is in play, it is the death of the Duke of Edinburgh which might indeed push the Queen towards abdication.

The Fall of Trump

The total eclipse of the Sun is therefore the most serious loss of light, and it falls on Trump’s Asc (Leo 29.49) conjunct star Regulus (Leo 29).  As the most harmful of the occlusions of light it very likely signals major affliction for him.  Investigating the matter requires examining the progressions, profections and Return charts that accommodate the total solar eclipse, and, unsurprisingly, each shows that the misfortune the eclipse marks for Trump is indeed his fall from office.  If the end of his presidency is a drawn out affair it will begin in earnest around the time of the eclipse (late August – September 2017), otherwise this period will see the completed event.

Some observations on the chart

US President and billionaire Donald J. Trump has royal star Regulus (Leo 29) on his Asc (Leo 29.49).  The two axes (Asc/Desc; MC/IC) are the back bone of the chart, and as they change degree every few minutes they are ‘peculiar’ to the native.  If Trump were born one minute later his Asc would be in Virgo not Leo.  Since the Asc largely informs the physical self, consider one of Trump’s more distinguishing physical features: his hair.  With the sign of Leo on the Asc this startling tonsorial achievement is clearly a manifestation of the Lion’s mane.  More importantly, Regulus bestows material success, so if the billionaire were born a few minutes earlier (or just a minute later) the chart would lose this feature that is a most apt descriptor of one of the more defining characteristics of his life.  Indeed Regulus is all the more relevant because as a royal star it leads to the throne; and as president Trump has already ascended to the US throne the royal star seems a most pertinent significator of his life.

The other axis, which has star Algol (Taurus 25.25) on the MC (Taurus 24.10), also suggests the accuracy of the chart. Only this will ensure, in words borrowed from W. B. Yeats, that Soul clap its hands and sing.  Consider then Trump’s vast wealth and not least his interior decorating obsession with the ghastly style of Dictator Chic (matter of taste aside) which show him, in the language of Yeats, so sick with desire, so transfixed by the material, so irreversibly indurated by appetite that he does indeed appear mesmerized by Medusa.  Algol on this personal point of the birth chart therefore does give this chart credence as Trump’s birth chart.

Progressions June 2017

Progressed MC (Cancer 29.36) changes sign from Cancer to Leo.  This describes Trump himself coming under the spotlight (Sun, ruler of Leo, is lord Asc).  But as Trump is US president the spotlight is already on him.  However, if the Moon which rules Cancer is read as his image (discussed below), then the movement describes the focus moving away from his image and on to himself.  Since Trump lives for his image this movement could signal some upheaval.

The progressed lord Asc, Sun (Virgo 0.49) has just suffered a serious drop in dignity having moved from rulership in Leo to face in Virgo.  This signals a major downturn for Trump.  Indeed, on changing sign the Sun opposes the Part of Spirit (Pisces 1.32), which is also known as the Part of Kings because it is the Solar Part.  This places a powerful spotlight on his rule (Part of Kings) with the opposition hinting at misfortune.  Moreover, because it is the Solar Part it also can be read as a Super-Sun, and so the arrangement constructs an opposition of the lights which signifies an important time.  Evidently Trump as president is taking a major hit.

Progressed Moon (Leo 1.20) has also recently suffered serious drop in dignity having moved from rulership and face in Cancer to peregrine in Leo.  This is another downturn and it is felt emotionally.  And, in the course of the  year, as the Moon progresses through Leo it will conjunct progressed Saturn (Leo 2.44) and progressed Mercury (Leo 13) and eventually oppose by antiscion the radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Scorpio 18.20).  Reading Saturn as lord 7, his enemies, and Mercury his distortion of reality (discussed below) it is not too much of a surprise, especially from what the progressed Sun has already shown that the possibility of leaving office is brought into play (Part of Resignation and Dismissal).

Progressed Part of Fortune (Virgo 25) changes sign from Virgo to Libra ie exchanging rulership by Mercury to rulership by Venus.  Venus is lord MC, Trump’s public role, so the progressed Part of Fortune is signaling by its sign change that Trump’s presidency is under focus.  And if his presidency were to undergo change this would explain its highlighting.

Progressed Mercury (Leo 13.02) has recently entered term of lord MC, Venus, again signaling potential for change for Trump in his role as president.  Progressed Mercury also opposes by antiscion radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Scorpio 18.20).  The opposition is separating, but it still in play so once again the prospect of his term in office ending prematurely is highlighted.

Progressed Venus (Libra 16.24) conjuncts Jupiter (Libra 17.27).  Reading Venus as his presidency (lord MC) and Jupiter as the end of office (lord 5 Jupiter is turned lord 8 from the 10th) this is a very clear description of his presidency ending.

Progressed Asc (Libra 25.08) squares the radix MC (Taurus 24.10) highlighting office in terms of himself.  As this is separating by one degree it may have been relevant to last year’s presidential success.  But there is also the possibility it may refer to this year’s undermining of his presidency by himself.

Profections

Profected Asc will eventually fall on radix Mars (Leo 26.46) possibly highlighting strife.

Profected Mars leaves Cancer, the sign of its fall, and enters Leo, which improves its dignity.  This may signal Trump fired up.  What is significant, however, is that Mars opposes by antiscion Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Scorpio 18.20) putting the end of office in play.

Profected Jupiter on star Seginus (Libra 16.50) leaves Virgo the sign of its detriment and enters Libra.  Seginus is situated on the left shoulder of Bootes, the bear ward.  Arcas was lifted up and placed in the firmament as Bootes (to prevent the calamity of killing his mother on sacred ground).  So Seginus could describe a removal of some sort from a difficult situation.  With Jupiter improving greatly in dignity this could describe Trump getting out of a difficult situation with relative ease. However, since Trump is already at the top, and therefore there is no available hand to reach down and remove him safely from his predicament, Seginus could well be invalid.

Profected Moon improves in dignity on leaving Scorpio the sign of its fall and enters Sagittarius.  It will then oppose by antiscion Venus (Cancer 25.44) and Saturn (Cancer 23.48); conjunct powerful star of ending Antares (Sagittarius 9), the South Node (Sagittarius 20.48); and finally oppose by antiscion Mercury (Cancer 8.51) which it receives into its detriment.  The improvement in the Moon’s dignity is most favourable and could relate to a period of emotional well-being.  However, the misfortune of oppositions to his public role as president (lord MC, Venus), enemies (lord 7, Saturn) and most significantly for one living the pride of life, an encounter with the heart of the Scorpion (Antares) can only be devastating for him as president.  This period of devastation is sustained by the Moon falling on the restrictive South Node, and by its opposition to Mercury which is his distorted take on reality coming to the fore.

Profected Part of Fortune will conjunct by antiscion Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Scorpio 18.20) putting the end of office in play, and then oppose Mars (Leo 26.46) so again, as with the profected Asc, possibly highlighting strife.

Profected MC will oppose by antiscion Part of Kings (Pisces 1.32); oppose Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Scorpio 18.20); and conjunct by antiscion Mars (Leo 26.46).  The opposition to his rule (Part of Kings) puts his presidency in play in terms of misfortune (opposition); the opposition to the Part of Resignation and Dismissal put the end of his presidency in play, and again the role of Mars possibly highlighting strife.

Profected Sun will conjunct Algol (Taurus 25.25); conjunct by antiscion Venus (Cancer 26.44) and Saturn (Cancer 23.48); conjunct first class magnitude star of Mars nature Aldebaran (Gemini 9); conjunct the North Node (Gemini 20.48); conjunct by antiscion  Mercury (Cancer 8.52); and oppose Moon – opposition of the lights so a significant time.  The activation of Algol with Trump’s distinct lack of wisdom indicates the likelihood of him losing his head.  This does not bode well with the follow on highlighting of his public role as president (Lord MC, Venus), his enemies (Lord 7, Saturn) and some considerable strife (Aldebaran).  The Sun profecting onto the North Node highlights himself (Sun is radix lord Asc).  Again the highlighting of Mercury brings his peculiar distortion of reality into play, especially with the opposition to the Moon.  Moreover, the Sun Moon opposition constructs an opposition of the lights which signals and important time.

Profected Mercury will conjunct first class magnitude star of Mars nature, Aldebaran (Gemini 9), the North Node (Gemini 20.48), and itself by antiscion; oppose the Moon (Sagittarius 21.12); conjunct the Sun (Gemini 22.55); lose dignity on leaving Gemini the sign it rules; conjunct the Sun by antiscion; oppose the Moon by antiscion.  So strife is highlighted (Aldebaran) and very much coloured by Trump’s distinctive capacity to distort reality (distressed Mercury is highlighted by the expansive North Node and itself), especially when Mercury bodily and antisocially highlights the Moon that does it so much damage.  And this distortion of reality is brought home to Trump (Mercury bodily and antiscially conjunct Sun).  And his distortion of reality becomes very troublesome (Mercury dramatic loss of dignity).

Profected Saturn will plunge in dignity on entering Cancer the sign of its detriment; conjunct the Sun by antiscion; oppose the Moon (Sagittarius 21.12) by antiscion; conjunct Mercury (Cancer 8.51); conjunct the North Node(Gemini 20.48) by antiscion.  Trumps enemies will become troublesome (lord 7, Saturn dramatic loss of dignity) and prominent (expansive North Node) and afflict him (Sun), his distorted reality (Mercury) and his need to distort reality (Moon).

Profected Venus will conjunct the Sun by antiscion; oppose the Moon (Sagittarius 21.12) by antiscion; conjunct Mercury (Cancer 8.51); conjunct the North Node (Gemini 20.48) by antiscion; conjunct Saturn (Cancer 23.48).  So Trump (Sun), his distorted reality (Mercury) and his need to distort reality (Moon) are highlighted by his public role as president (lord MC is Venus) which itself is very much in the spotlight (North Node), especially since it brings his enemies to the fore (lord 7, Saturn).

Donald Trump Solar Return 2017-18

Solar Return 2017-18 Asc Libra 14.19

The perfecting radix opposition of the Sun (Gemini 22.55) and Moon (Sagittarius 21.12) conjunct the nodal axis describes an impending (total) lunar eclipse.  The Moon, of course, is full of light, and, although under the earth, its splendid luminosity nonetheless makes it powerfully dominant.  And yet it confronts an implacable and all-consuming darkness.  Faced with this utter and imminent destruction of its light, the Moon experiences an urgent and extreme need to maintain the splendor of its magnificent culmination.  Because the Moon does not rule a specific house its prominent role would be representing the emotions, its natural signification.  Accordingly it would describe inflated emotions that have no adequate base e.g. Trump’s acute sensitive to the slightest possibility of criticism.  In addition, because the Moon’s refulgence is the reflected brilliance of the Sun, the significator not only of the ego but also of the self (Sun is radix lord Asc), it also relates to his image and so would describe a garish self-parade that celebrates an overestimated self e.g. Trump’s preoccupation with the grandiose self-image.

These desperate gestures of compensation by the Moon for its impending impoverishment by a ravenous and vitiating eclipse that will totally consume the light it mirrors from the Sun contribute in part to a narcissistic closure of extreme or total self-absorption, which perforce lacks the normal range of emotions that is founded on empathy.  There is no sense of a developed ‘self’ because the rules of reciprocity are not in play; rather, everything for Trump is an extension of himself feeding an unwarranted need for tribute from others.  Essentially Trump is disconnected from himself: he identifies with his image.  And this is neatly enforced by his capacity to distort reality to suit his own monolithic myth of greatness: Moon rules Mercury which it tightly opposes by antiscion and receives it into its detriment.  Any activation then by a return chart of this powerful and significant radix configuration of the dynamic of self and image will signify a time of potential great importance in the life of the native.

Certainly the Solar Return 2017-18 chart does show the self/image structure of tension that is central to the makeup of the native assaulted, such that the alignment of axes of the lights and the nodes, antiscially conjunct Mercury, with specific focus on the Sun and Mercury is set upon by the malefics: the lesser malefic, Mars (Cancer 6.02), falls on the antiscial conjunction of Sun and Mercury, with Mars perfecting an antiscial conjunction with Sun; and the greater malefic, retrograde Saturn (Sagittarius 24.37) on star cluster Aculeus (Sagittarius 24.50) in the sting of the Scorpion, opposes the radix antiscial conjunction of Sun and Mercury.  The involvement of the greater malefic Saturn, which more importantly is Solar Return turned lord 8 (8th from the 10th, lord 5), could describe the end of office (Saturn) for Trump (Sun) with the opposition itself underlining the misfortune this would entail.  And the perfecting antiscial conjunction with the Sun of the lesser malefic, Mars, significator of the potential for strife, and more specifically of Trump’s enemies (Solar Return lord 7), could describe difficulty for Trump, with the antiscion possibly hinting that this difficulty is hidden or indirect.  Specifically the highlightings describes a direct assault on Trump (Sun), and his politics of mendacity (beleaguered Mercury), by both his enemies and the end of office.  Indeed it seems his capacity for distorting reality informs the office he is about to leave: Solar Return Mercury (Gemini 13.29), which carries its radix condition, falls by antiscion on the Solar Return MC (Cancer 16.39).  These most serious assaults on Trump (Sun) and his politics (Mercury) would appear then to be perfect testimonies to his term in office ending prematurely.

That these assaults also involves his phantom image of superiority and omnipotence is entirely understandable because the development of his image is inversely proportional to the depreciation of his self (Sun); but it is also entirely appropriate because the image informs the role of the Scorpion which comes as a package with Saturn.  The Scorpion, of course, is not a feature of the radix but it does seem relevant to Trump’s behaviour and status, especially his reckless disregard for the truth to suit his self-perceived worth and prowess.  The story of the Scorpion describes how the mighty Orion’s self-glorification in his prowess as a hunter that resulted from the power hunting gave him over all the beasts of the earth, prompted Mother Earth to summon the Scorpion to sting him to death as a reminder of, not just the mutability of the sub-lunar state, but particularly the foolish overlooking of its cycle of decline and resurgence that exceptional elevation encourages.   And certainly as one of the most powerful political leaders in the world, US president Trump does express something of an Orion-like ‘I can bully you all’ arrogance of office.  Indeed, it is central to the image of omnipotence that he so vigorously and vigilantly enforces.  Witness his outrageous and brazen insistence to ban travel from six majority-Muslim countries; build a Mexico-US border wall at Mexico’s expense; repeal Obamacare; accuse GCHQ repeatedly and without foundation of wiretapping his communications; and use verbal mayhem that characterizes his notorious Trumpspeak to inflate himself and render himself unaccountable.  But what is perhaps most interesting of all is his vainglorious demeanor, e.g. the New York Times reporting on Trump’s inaugural speech described him as “Vainglorious on a podium where other presidents have presented themselves as fellow citizens, preening where they have been humble . . .”.  Accordingly the Orion-like Trump would be an appropriate recipient of the sting of the Scorpion (Aculeus) that fittingly assaults him (lord Asc, Sun) by means of the end of office (Saturn).

And the Solar Return chart already alerts us to the likelihood of the end of office for president Trump with radix and turned lord 8 (radix lord 5), Solar Return Jupiter (Libra 13.14), clamoring for attention by conjuncting the Solar Return Asc (Libra 14.19).  Indeed, it shows the issue of the end of office pressing down on the president (Asc).  This issue is all the more a cause for concern for Trump because Jupiter is on star Algorab (Libra 12.40) in the constellation of the Crow who failed to complete his mission.  Algorab is not a feature of the radix but it seems appropriate that the significator of Trump’s end of office, which is under the spotlight long before his term in office expires, should be additionally coloured by this particular star.  And as if to press home the significance of this highlighting of Jupiter on Algorab, the Natal Arc Part of Fortune when cast into the Solar Return chart falls at Aries 12.35 which opposes Solar Return Jupiter.  Clearly the significator of the end of office, turned lord 8, Jupiter, is a significant factor in the period governed by the 2017/18 Solar Return chart.

In fact the significance of this Jupiter issue is further underlined by the (radix) Part of Spirit (Pisces 1.32).  This is also known as the Part of Kings because it is the solar part; and when its Natal Arc is cast into the Solar Return chart it falls at Aries 16.02 from where it boomerangs on to the radix to oppose radix turned lord 8 (lord 5), Jupiter in station (Libra 17.27).  This is most unfortunate for Trump as it shows his rule (Part of Kings) informed by the end of office with the misfortune it entails underlined by the opposition.

It would be even more informative if we could consider Solar Return Moon (Aquarius 9.34) conjunct by antiscion the (radix) Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Scorpio 18.20); and the Natal Arc Part of Resignation and Dismissal falling in the Solar Return chart at Capricorn 2.40 and then falling back on to the radix where it conjuncts by antiscion on the 5th cusp (Sagittarius 29.11) highlighting the end of office.  But unfortunately the degree of separation in both these arrangements is just that bit too distant to convincingly consider them relevant.

As a stand-alone chart, but also in referencing the radix, the 2017-18 Solar Return map alerts us to the potential of Trump’s term in office ending in the period it governs long before his term officially expires, by the strategic placement of the significator of his end of office that tellingly is itself stamped with the mark of an unfinished assignment (Solar Return and radix turned lord 8, Jupiter, on Algorab, conjuncts the Asc).  Indeed, the significance of this curtailment of his term in office is underlined both by its weighty highlighting from the radix (Natal Arc Part of Fortune opposes Solar Return Jupiter on Algorab), and more compellingly by the highlighting of his rule by the radix significator of the end of office itself (Natal Arc Part of Kings falls in the Solar Return chart to oppose radix turned lord 8, lord 5, Jupiter).

The significant likelihood of this premature ending of Trump’s term in office is pressed home further by the specific highlighting of Trump himself by the end of office, and in terms that are both brutal and unfortunate (Solar Return turned lord 8, Saturn on star Aculus opposes radix lord Asc Sun).  This affliction of Trump is neatly supported by the assault on him from his enemies (lord Desc, Solar Return Mars, perfects antiscial conjunction with Sun), with the potential for strife itself highlighted by Solar Return North Node (Leo 26.02) falling on radix Mars in its natural role as the lesser malefic (Leo 26.46).

The significance of this premature end of office as a momentous event in the life of Trump is underscored by the highlightings from Solar Return Saturn and Mars which bring into play the powerful radix alignment of the axes of lights and nodes conjunct Mercury.  Moreover, reading Mercury as his compulsion to distort facts to feed his image (radix Mercury is ruled by the Moon which tightly opposes it and receives it into its detriment), its highlighting in the Solar Return chart appropriately hints it may inform the ending of his term in office that so dominates the chart (Solar Return Mercury conjuncts by antiscion the Solar Return MC).

Donald Trump Lunar Return 3 August 2017

Lunar Return 3rd August 2017 Asc Cancer 2.43

The Lunar Return chart that governs the period of the solar eclipse has Venus (Cancer 3.04) tightly conjuncts the Asc (Cancer 2.43) drawing attention to the likelihood of Venus as an important factor.  Taking Venus as the end of office (8th from the MC) would be good reason why the chart wants it flagged up.  And examination of the Lunar Return chart confirms that end of office is indeed the issue of the Return chart.

Consider then the Asc/Desc axis (Cancer/Capricorn 2.43) falling by antiscion on the radix 11/5th cusp axis (Gemini/Sagittarius 29.11).  It does not matter which way round the axes align, the Asc falling on the turned 8th cusp (radical 5th) shows the end of office (8th cusp) is in play, and highlighted appropriately by Trump himself (Asc).  This is significant testimony to the end of office for Trump.

Further development of the issue, and along a similar line, is provided by the arc of the radix Part of Fortune, which cast into the Lunar Return chart, falls at Capricorn 0.59 which boomerangs on to radix to conjunct by antiscion the turned 8th cusp from the 10th (radix 5th cusp, Sagittarius 29.11).  This involved yet neat positioning of the radix and Lunar Return charts certainly pinpoints the end of office for Trump.

And the issue is again underscored by Lunar Return Jupiter (Libra 17.18) tightly conjunct radix Jupiter (Libra 17.27).  Reading radix Jupiter as turned lord 8, signifying the end of office (8th for the 10th), a signification Return Jupiter also holds because it can always carry its radix reference, the Jupiter on Jupiter neatly emphasies the end of Trump’s presidency.

But perhaps the neatest testimony is provided by the antiscial opposition of the Lunar Return Sun (Leo 11.08) and the radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Scorpio 18.20).  Reading the Sun as radix lord Asc, its highlighting by the radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal is neat and powerful testimony to Trump’s dismissal from office, with the misfortune this entails underlined by the opposition.

Lunar Return retrograde Saturn (Sagittarius 21.34) perfects a tight conjunction with radix Moon (Sagittarius 21.12).  The radix Moon is primarily both the emotional self and the grandiose self-image (it rules no houses), but in this instance it is also coloured by its role as Lunar Return lord Asc, signifying Trump himself.  If Saturn is read as his enemies (Saturn is radix and Lunar Return lord Desc) this arrangement very likely describes Trump, and specifically in the role of his grandiose self-image that both needs and generates the misrepresentation of reality (radix Mercury is ruled by the Moon which tightly opposes it and receives it into its detriment), embroiled with his enemies.  Since the grandiose self-image at its most grandiose is his substantial achievement as US President which he was driven to achieve by his narcissistic and exploitative need for recognition, celebration and acclaim and which, moreover, is fed by falsehood, it is unsurprising that Trump as president finds himself beset with trouble from his enemies.

It is clear that the Lunar Return provides ample and congruent testimony to Trump’s dismissal from office, the most important of which is the Lunar Return Sun, which carries it radix meaning as lord Asc, opposed antiscially by the radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal bringing the end of office directly to bear on Trump, and with misfortune for good measure.  Significant supporting testimony is provided by the Asc/Desc axis falling by antiscion on the radix 11/5th cusp axis, showing the end of office appropriately in play by Trump himself (Asc).  And the testimony of the arc of the radix Part of Fortune falling back on to the radix to conjunct by antiscion the turned 8th cusp from the 10th is equally powerful in showing the end of office in play.  In such circumstance then the assault on the radix Moon by Saturn, which is essentially Trump himself assaulted by his enemies (Moon is Lunar Return lord Asc), is fitting testimony to the strife and difficulty Trump would find himself in with his office ending prematurely.

Donald Trump Solar Lunar Return 7 August 2017

Solar Lunar Return 7th August 2017 Asc Cancer 6.26

The Solar Lunar Return chart flags up Trump’ public role as president, or, more specifically, the end of his presidency as an issue for the period governed by this return chart: Solar Lunar Return Venus (Cancer 7.43) conjuncts the Solar Lunar Return Asc (Cancer 6.26), where Venus is both radix lord MC and lord of Lunar Return turned 8th from the 10th, the Lunar Return 5th.  The negative perspective on his presidency is hinted at by Venus opposed by antiscion Solar Lunar Return Saturn (Sagittarius 21.26), with the opposition, of course, falling on the Solar Lunar Return Asc/Desc axis.  Reading Saturn as his open enemies (radix and Lunar Return lord 7), and Venus as his public role as president, the arrangement clearly shows Trump’s presidency under assault from his enemies, with the inclusion of the axis powerfully highlighting the significance of the assault.  Similarly, the Natal Arc Part of Kings, which falls in the Solar Lunar Return chart at Capricorn 9.53, conjuncts Saturn by antiscion, and therefore also shows his rule under assault from his enemies.  But more importantly, the Natal Arc Part of Kings opposes Venus as lord of Lunar Return turned 8th from the 10th, the Lunar Return 5th, which clearly shows the end of his office.  And again since both the conjunction and opposition with the Natal Arc Part fall on the Asc/Desc axis the significance of each is emphasised.

Indeed, the importance of these various assaults on: Venus from Saturn, and the Natal Arc Part of Kings from both Saturn and Venus, which are highlighted by the Solar Lunar Return Asc/Desc axis, takes on momentous significance by falling in the radix chart on the antiscial conjunction of Sun (Gemini 22.55) and Mercury (Cancer 8.51) opposed Moon (Sagittarius 21.12) on the North/South node axis (Gemini/Sagittarius 20.48).  Essentially the end of office that is highlighted for the Solar Lunar Return period is powerfully anchored to Trump (Sun is radix lord Asc) and is informed by his image of grandiosity (Moon) and its destructive need to distort reality (Moon rules Mercury and receives it into its detriment, with the reception underlined by their tight antiscial opposition).   Moreover, because the Part of Kings is the Solar Part it also can be read as a Super-Sun, and so by falling on the radix axis of the lights the arrangement constructs a conjunction and opposition of the lights which doubly signifies an important time, thereby once again underlining the significance of these testimonies to the particular upheaval they signify in Trump’s life.

Returning back to the return chart these highlightings of the end of Trump’s office, the assault on his office from his enemies, and the assault on, and, indeed, the end of his presidential rule, all of which are powerfully informed by the radix, are neatly developed by Solar Lunar Return Jupiter (Libra 17.53) conjunct by antiscion the Solar Lunar Return MC (Pisces 14.02), where Jupiter carries its signification from the radix as turned lord 8 (radical 5th).  Clearly the Solar Lunar Return chart is putting the end of office firmly in play for Trump.

This highlighting of the end of office is reinforced by Solar Lunar Return Mars (Leo 11.25) opposing by antiscion the radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal (Scorpio 18.20).  Moreover, the natal arc Part of Resignation and Dismissal falls in the Solar Lunar Return chart at Virgo 24.57 which conjuncts star Labrum (Virgo 25.30) denoting destiny.  Labrum is not a factor of the radix so its relevance is debatable.  However, because leaving high office before completing the term is a major development in the life of the native this highlighting of the idea of destiny by a relevant and powerful factor would seem pertinent.  Accordingly Labrum underscores Trumps impending dismissal from office.

And once again Trump’s audacious disregard for the truth is in play: Mercury is entering primary station where it is motionless; and since a planet without speed is a planet without power, Mercury’s debilitated condition signals that his already weak grasp on reality is becoming even more troublesome.  Indeed both Mercury’s perfecting square with Venus, and its antiscial opposition with Jupiter emphasise it has a role in informing his office (Venus is radix lord MC) and indeed the end of his office (Jupiter is radix lord 5, turned lord 8).

The opposition of Venus as radix lord 10 and Saturn as radix and return lord 7 describes Trump’s public role as president under attack from his enemies.  This is also shown by the Natal Arc Part of Kings antisically conjunct Saturn where the Part of Kings describes his rule.  And Venus as return turned lord 8 (return lord 5), signifying the end of office, opposing the Natal Arc Part of Kings, describes his presidency ending, and thereby explains the assaults on his office and his public role as president.  And not only is all of this emphasised by falling on the return Asc/Desc axis but it is particularly emphasised by falling on the powerful radix alignment of the axes of lights and nodes conjunct Mercury, where the Sun as radix lord Asc signifying Trump himself, and the Moon as his capacity to misrepresent reality fixes the matter firmly to the core that is Trump himself and his destructive behaviour.  And when it is considered that the Part of Kings can be read as a SuperSun its conjuncting the Moon and opposing the Sun describe a significant time by its constructing a conjunction and opposition of the lights.  The highlighting of radix Mercury is also important because Return Mercury is about to turn retrograde and perfect a square with Venus.  Reading Venus as radix lord MC this shows his distortion of reality becoming troublesome and informing his public role as president.  Also return Mercury antiscially opposes return Jupiter.  Reading Jupiter as the radix turned lord 8 (radical 5th) this opposition describes Trump’s distortion of reality informing the end of his office.  The highlighting of the radix Part of Resignation and Dismissal by return Mars and the Natal Arc Part of Resignation and Dismissal falling on star of destiny, Labrum, neatly clinch the issue of Trump’s presidency ending.
